HOME COMFORTS
Hello, this blog post is about my home & how I have started to buy softer things such as this Home Sweet Home canvas.
Ironically it was about that time that things in my life started to really crumble around me.
My father's illness, my health worries both physical & wellbeing, my struggles at keeping my job. Also family issues, some which after much turmoil we have managed to overcome & some we are still on the edge of right now.
At this time I felt I needed areas of hope in my home. Areas where my mind could be comforted by pretty homely objects. I started to create little corners of peace that I felt I could glance at during my difficult moments.
I wanted to share these images with you too.
It is for me about creating a sense of belonging.
A very dear friend of mine gave me this angel when I so needed some extra strength. She is called "Angel of Courage". She has sat on my kitchen window sill everyday since then watching over me. I have used her arms to carry me on some darker days. Symbolic I know, but somehow it has given me strength & comfort. Thank you to my friend for this beautifully perfectly timed gift!
These objects sit on the other side of my sill in the kitchen. The beautiful small card was bought last year at Lands End, Cornwall. I visited a wonderful artists studio which is positioned looking straight across the Atlantic Ocean. Her work was magical and I felt captivated by her paintings of Cornwall. If you would like to take a look at her work you can find her web address at http://www.wendysgallery.co.uk/documents/wendysgallery.html
Thank you for reading my post today.
Until next time take care.
xx
